  • Enzo Bonaventura (Pisa 1891 - Jerusalem 1948), father: professor of psychology expelled from position at the Università di Firenze, emigrated in March 1939 prior to emigration of his wife and children; never returned to Italy.
  • Matilde Passigli Bonaventura (Palma de Mallorca 1895 - Jerusalem 1984), mother: in Florence from 1921, emigrated to Jerusalem in September 1939 with David and the other children to join her husband; never returned to Italy.
  • Emanuel Bonaventura later Ashery (Florence 1928), brother: emigrated to Jerusalem (Palestine at the time) in 1939 with his mother and siblings, went into the shipping business, living from the 1950s mainly in Italy but also in Paris. 
  • Daniel Bonaventura later Ashery (Florence 1936 - Tel Aviv 2018), brother: emigrated to Jerusalem (Palestine at the time) in 1939 with his mother and siblings, became professor of Experimental nuclear physics at Tel Aviv University; never returned to Italy.
