Felix Wilhelm Behrend (Königsberg, German Reich, now Kaliningrad, Russia, 22 August 1880 - Melbourne 16 November 1957), father: headmaster at a high school in Berlin, was expelled in 1935 and emigrated to Great Britain in 1939. In the UK, he worked as a fix-term math teacher. When his wife died in 1948, he emigrated to Australia, where his son lived. He never returned to Germany permanently.
Marie Sophie Zöllner (Selb, Germany, 7 June 1890 - Ramsgate, UK, 15 December 1948), mother: she joined her husband in the United Kingdom probably in 1940. She worked as a housekeeper at the college near Northampton where he taught. She never returned to Germany permanently.
Felix Adalbert Behrend (Berlin 23 April 1911 - Melbourne 27 May 1962), brother: mathematician, after 1933, emigrated to Cambridge, then to Zurich and Prague, then moved back to the United Kingdom in 1939. He was interned as an enemy alien and moved to Australia, where he eventually took residence and became an associate professor in Melbourne. He never returned to Europe permanently.
Hildegard Martha Behrend (Berlin 13 August 1917 - Chesham Bois, UK, 11 January 2000), sister: she emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1936 and worked different jobs, eventually becoming secretary at the London School of Economics. Thanks to this, she got a degree and a PhD in economics. In 1954, she became a lecturer and, in 1973, professor of industrial relations at Edinburgh University. She never returned to Germany.
