  • Siegfried Szarfstein (1912-1995), probably cousin: he moved to Italy from Poland and graduated in Medicine in Palermo in 1934; he emigrated to Hong Kong with his mother in 1939.

  • Lucia Capanna, her daughter Maria Storti and priest Don Augusto Giombini from Sant'Angelo in Vado (Pesaro): they protected and helped him hide during the Nazi occupation.
